Justin im not sure i understand this social sculpture. Would you mind clarifying a bit?
Several former students asked if I could teach an upper-level class for which they could sign up. I’d asked about doing this earlier but there is no money for it officially. Since I keep up with a number of my former students and their associates I decided to offer an online course. No credit…completely optional. If this will work I think the “students” involved will have to work as hard or harder than I do. I hope that they can provide a window into their lives and experiences as artists and possibly an open door to my current and future students.
Some of it may involve tech…I’m thinking about incorporating not only tumblr and Vimeo but also Skype, Google wave, and maybe some form of wiki. However the class is less about tech than it is about networks (of people, work, and ideas). If there’s one question I want to tackle it is this “What does it mean to be an artist today?” I believe it may have something to do with being part of a conspiracy.
Your input, insights, and participation would be appreciated on my part.
I have been absent from Tumblr all week but am very interested in this, obviously. Keep us posted Justin!!

I finished my sculpture final 3 days before it’s due, which has never happened in my life, ever. My parents are letting me borrow their video camera indefinitely AND I got my hands on 5 Mini DV tapes. Thanksgiving break was perfect and peaceful. This week will be ridiculous and hellish but for the first time in months I am ready for the challenge.
Things are great. Yeah.
